ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE PIECE: Institute for Post-Human Performance Practice

Institute for Post-Human Performance Practice (2018), by Trond Reinholdtsen (NO), for (the last human) percussionist and robots.

This is the solo percussion portion of a larger work of the same title which I commissioned as a part of my PhD research at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The full version includes live percussion, live research, documentary film, and an Institute. It has been performed at Dark Music Days (Iceland) and Ultima Festival (Norway) in 2018. Trond Reinholdtsen is one of Europe’s most celebrated composers of his generation with regular performances at practically every major festival on the continent. I have attached a score. The solo would be performed without video.
