ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE PIECE: Giorgio Battistelli: “Il Libro Celibe”

Giorgio Battistelli’s “Il Libro Celibe” (The Celibate Book) is composed for a book-like sound sculpture which the performer must build by realizing Battistelli’s minimalistic score. The book and its contents must be carefully considered by the performer who acts as a curator of unique sounds and timbres. Many different pages are contained within this magical book, many of which have been prepared in some way to achieve Battistelli’s original intent.
