About CalArts Percussion Group

The CalArts Percussion Ensemble is dedicated to finding the new. It explores new ways of hearing sounds and new ways of making music, performing historical and contemporary pieces for percussion group, commissions, and music using improvisation, text and graphic scores, group composition, and pieces by its individual members. Its founder John Bergamo was inducted into the PAS Hall of Fame in 2012, and its alumnx include Amy Knoles and Art Jarvinen of the California Ear Unit, Hands On’Semble, and the LA Percussion Quartet, among innumerable others.

Its current director is Tim Feeney.
