About George Ferreira
Percussionist and music educator, he began his studies at Escola do Auditorio Ibirapuera, where he had greater contact with Brazilian popular music, integrating Orquestra Furiosa. He continued his studies at EMESP Tom Jobim (São Paulo State Music School), investigating the universe of percussion in concert music. He was a scholarship holder of the Youth Symphony Band of the State of São Paulo and the Tom Jobim Youth Orchestra. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in percussion from the University of São Paulo (USP), developing research in contemporary and scenic music, as well as in popular percussion. He also works as a percussion and rhythmic teacher and as a percussionist in bands, choirs and orchestras throughout the city and state of São Paulo, in addition to providing recording and soundtrack services. He is currently a fellow musician at OCAM and also performs several concerts with professional orchestras.
