About Gregory Beyer & I-Jen Fang

Described as an “intrepid percussionist” by Fanfare Magazine, I-Jen Fang has a career as a solo performer, chamber musician, orchestral player, and teacher. She is on faculty at the University of Virginia and serves as the Principal Timpanist and Percussionist of the Charlottesville Symphony. She has performed as a soloist around the world and as a featured performer at PASIC and various festivals. Fang is an Innovative Percussion and Marimba One artist.

Fulbright Scholar Gregory Beyer is Director of Percussion Studies at Northern Illinois University, Artistic Director of Arcomusical, and member of the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition’s Grossman Ensemble.

Beyer and Fang began collaborating in 2018 at the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival. Through deep mutual admiration of the music of Christopher Deane, they have continued to work together as a duo, having performed the works of Deane, Toru Takemitsu, André Mehmari, Joe Moore, Lou Harrison, Alex Christie, and Brian Simalchik.
