About GruPU - Grupo de Percussão da UNICAMP
In 26 years of intense artistic activity, GruPU – Grupo de Percussão da UNICAMP, under direction of Fernando Hashimoto, has become one of the most active percussion groups in Brazil, including a regular seasons of concerts, recordings, appearances on radio and television programs, as well as participation in important percussion festivals in South America, Europe and the United States. Recently, in 2019, GruPU performed the premiere of the Double Concerto for Percussion and Piano, by composer Mario Ficarelli, performing as a soloist for OSUSP at Sala São Paulo. In the same year, the GRUPU released its third cd: GRUPUano20 #01 and #02.
In addition to a list of concerts held in all regions of the country, the group’s incursions abroad stand out. In 2018, it carried out its third tour in Europe, having performed concerts in France, Switzerland and Spain, in celebration of its 20 years of trajectory. In the same year, GruPU performed as a soloist with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra. The GruPU is supported by Zildjian and ADAMS/Pearl.
