About Jerome Balsab
Jerome Balsab is director of gyil xylophone studies at the Bernard Woma Dagara Music Center and lead xylophonist with the Saakumu Dance Troupe. He began playing the Dagara gyil at age two and has become internationally recognized as a master performer and teacher. Serving as Bernard Woma’s left hand man since their childhood school days, Jerome has been to the US on 13 international tours, teaching and performing at concert venues, universities, and community centers throughout the country. As a member of the Bernard Woma Ensemble, he has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and is a regularly featured artist with the Slyboots Circus in Buffalo, NY.
