About Nath Calan
Nath Calan graduated from Unesp, having therefore participated in the Piap percussion group from 2004 to 2008; holds a master’s degree in performance from Unicamp and is a doctoral in performance from UFMG.
She is current timpanist of OSMS (Santos Municipal Symphony Orchestra) since 2007, under the baton of Luís Gustavo Petri.
Also percussionist/timpanist at Bachiana Filarmônica Sesi SP since 2010, conducted by João Carlos Martins.
As a concert performer in chamber and orchestra music, she has played in several countries in Europe and America, such as the USA, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, France, Venezuela, Argentina.
The percussionist also carries out extensive work and research on scenic music, a style in which scenic and musical arts blend. She has a solo show of scenic music with which she performed more than 40 times in different festivals and percussion meetings at universities such as Unesp, Unicamp, Federal University of Uberlândia, Federal Institute of Goiânia, Federal University of Bahia, Federal University of Campo Grande and large concert halls such as Funarte, Itaú Cultural on Avenida Paulista, Sesc Paulista, Unibes theater and alternative cultural spaces such as Casa Gramo, Teatro de Bolso, Alvenaria, among others.
As a teacher, she taught percussion at the Ibirapuera Auditorium for ten consecutive years. Conducts workshops and master class of scenic music in percussion meetings.
She is currently a drummer in the show “AnonimAto” by Cia. Mungunzá de Teatro and Disney’s musical show, “Cantando com Encanto”.
