About North Gwinnett Middle School
The North Gwinnett Middle School Percussion Ensemble consists of 7th and 8th Grade students who are enrolled in the band program at NGMS in Sugar Hill, Georgia. Students meet for 45-minute classes daily in the full band setting with the percussion ensemble meeting once a week after school year round. Members of the percussion studio audition and participate in the Georgia Music Educators District and All-State Bands annually and also participate in the GMEA Solo and Ensemble Festivals each year. The NGMS Percussion Ensemble has been selected to perform at the GMEA In-Service Conference in 2018 and for the 2015 Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival, part of the Music for All National Festival presented by Yamaha. The NGMS Percussion Ensemble participates annually in the Southeastern Percussion Ensemble Symposium held at Walton High School in Cobb County, Ga. Some current 8th Grade members of the ensemble will be performing with the NGMS 8th Grade Symphonic Band at the GMEA In-Service Conference in January 2024.
