About Peter Ferry
Peter Ferry is a young American percussion soloist committed to contemporary repertoire and innovative artistic collaborations. Ferry has been praised as “the ingenious percussionist Peter Ferry,” (Chicago Sun-Times) for his worldwide touring as a concerto soloist, recitalist, multimedia performer, arts leader, and close collaborator of today’s composers and interdisciplinary artists. As a soloist for Elliot Cole’s “The Future is Bright”, Ferry premiered the concerto with ten ensembles throughout the country that co-commissioned the work. Ferry has stepped in as a guest percussionist with ensembles Alarm Will Sound, Ensemble Dal Niente, Eighth Blackbird, and Third Coast Percussion. An alumnus of the Eastman School of Music, Ferry studied with Michael Burritt, graduating with the first ever John Beck Percussion Scholarship. Ferry proudly endorses Marimba One, Vic Firth, Balter sticks and mallets, and Zildjian cymbals.
