About Sebastián Amaya
Sebastián Amaya is a percussionist and music educator from Bogota, Colombia.
Interested in the development of Latin American and Colombian music, Sebastián is the percussionist of the Cundinamarca plucked string orchestra, an organization in charge of interpretation of instruments associated with traditional Colombian music. Additional to this is percussion teacher at the music training center in Sibate – Cundinamarca.
He has participated in recitals such as solo percussionist promoting the universal repertoire of percussion in venues such as the Olav Roots and Fabio Lozano auditorium, among others.
He has worked as a percussionist in numerous symphony orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, Andes Orchestra, Antonia Brico Orchestra, among others.
