Located just outside of Washington, D.C., the University of Maryland enjoys a thriving artistic environment “inside the beltway.” In addition to its two concerts per year, the UM Percussion Ensemble regularly performs for Maryland Day, a large community event catering to the local community. Performing a diverse repertoire from classical transcriptions to the works of Iannis Xenakis, Tan Dun, and Lou Harrison, the UMD Percussion Ensemble regularly features guest soloists and has performed at several MD/DE PAS Days of Percussion and with the Bang on a Can All-Stars.
