About Jared Potter

Jared Potter is from Kosciusko, Mississippi. He received his Bachelors’s in Music Education from Mississippi State University and his Master’s in Percussion Performance from the University of Florida. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Florida studying percussion performance with a cognate in instructional design. Jared currently holds the percussion area graduate assistantship where his duties include teaching the undergraduate percussion skills class, teaching the intermediate steel band, and assisting with the percussion ensemble. He is also the instructor and writer for the University of Florida Gator Band Drumline. Jared is an active educator throughout Mississippi and Florida where he specializes in both teaching and writing for marching percussion. Jared has studied under Jason Baker, Elanders Frazier, Kenneth Broadway, Clyde Connor, and Danielle Moreau.
